Gruene, Texas

Port Aransas, Texas

Gruene, Texas

We can probably predict that Gruen, Texas, will be the smallest town that we will have the privilege of sharing with everyone. It has only about 20 residents, which is likely because it was once a ghost town that was revived sometime before the 1970s. It's on the National Register of Historic Places.

Gruen is located approximately 40 minutes from San Antonio, and is close to New Braunfels, Texas, a city with a significantly larger population of  over 100,000.

Salado, is located along the "Old Chisholm Trail", in central Texas.

Researching upcoming events in this small town proved this town to be one of the most active towns I have explored thus far.

The best I can do is share this website with you and I am going to make Salado part of my travel plans.

Terlingua, Texas

The best way to describe Terlingua, Texas, is WOW!

It only has a population of 138, but it swells to over 10,000 on the first Saturday of November when it hosts their famous chili cook that began in 1967 and continues today.

This former ghost town is located close to the Big Bend National Park and has been the site of movie productions such as "The Gambler" and "Streets of Laredo".
